The import price in Asia-Pacific stood at $4,297 per ton in 2024, standing approx. at the previous year. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the import price increased by 14% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $4,730 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2024, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2024, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($7,808 per ton), while Myanmar ($1,403 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Total exports indicated prominent growth from 2013 to 2024: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.5% over the last eleven-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2024 figures, exports increased by +29.4% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 23% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked in 2024 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, sanitary towel and diaper exports stood at $4.6B in 2024. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% from 2013 to 2024; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 27%. The level of export peaked in 2024 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.

In value terms, China ($3.6B) remains the largest sanitary towel and diaper supplier in Asia-Pacific, comprising 78% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Japan ($365M), with a 7.9% share of total exports. It was followed by Thailand, with a 4.5% share.
From 2013 to 2024, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in China stood at +10.7%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Japan (-7.0% per year) and Thailand (-3.3% per year).
In 2024, the export price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $3,101 per ton, shrinking by -10.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a pronounced setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 3.2% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $4,430 per ton. From 2015 to 2024, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($4,652 per ton), while China ($2,898 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
